PERSONALITY:

Moving with grace, speech woven with playful words and mannerism with delicate gestures, at a first glance, Ferris doesn't seem like a force to be reckoned with. He's more than content with creating said illusion, too -- allows people to assume he's harmless; weak, an animal, someone to be overlooked. In reality, he serves as a royal knight for Crusch Karsten, the head of a powerful house, and a candidate to be the next ruler of the Kingdom of Lugnica. And while his talents certainly don't lie in combat, he's still skillful enough to be considered a threat; though, as he says himself, Crusch is still much stronger than he is.

Yet, he serves as her knight with dignity and loyalty, supporting her views with utter faith. He's known her since childhood -- originally, they started as friends, though as life progressed, certain events forced them into the tough decision of competing for the Lugnica throne. Full of faith, he'd adapted her views as his own; even during the royal election speeches, while other knights usually had something to add, Ferris remained quiet, merely commenting about how beautiful and dignified Crusch looked on stage. He's willing to go to ridiculous lengths to ensure her safety, and he's always seen by her side; though it's unconfirmed information, it's also very possible that he became a knight mostly for her sake as well.

Along with accompanying his master, he tends to cling to her a lot -- though that's a trait he seems to express towards other people as well. Extremely physical and affectionate, he doesn't quite know the meaning of personal space and tends to ignore that completely, as seen with Subaru (he starts inspecting him from up close the second he sees him first, then invades his personal space continuously afterwards.) This can sometimes also extend to being suggestive; he has no issues making provocative comments, though that's mostly for his own amusement, as he enjoys watching people scramble for something to say. Being tactile also has to do with his ability, though -- his magic works mostly through touch, and he's able to make people feel better and revitalized by simply grazing his fingers against their skin.

Most people don't seem to mind, though -- he's all smiles and cheerful attitude, words spoken with various cat puns intertwined, and he's perfectly capable of being well-mannered and dignified, as he's been in the presence of royalty since childhood. He makes for a good conversational partner, and sometimes takes over for Crusch, who doesn't enjoy socializing as much as he does. And though most of what he says is spoken with a smile, he's definitely not above weaving white lies into his sentences, mostly for his own entertainment -- from time to time, he uses female pronouns, and sometimes speaks in third person, referring to himself as Ferri-chan. Confusing people about his gender seems to amuse him -- though he has no issues admitting that he's male, nor with offering to prove that to people who don't believe him.

While his lies may seem harmless, for people he dislikes, he has nothing but cutting words and brutal honesty in store. He doesn't enjoy interacting with people who hold no will to live -- and though he says healing emotionless creatures is easier, he still refuses to do so, unless ordered. At first, he has nothing against Subaru, though holds vague dissatisfaction with his strength; after Subaru revives traumatized, as he'd just seen all of his loved ones die, Ferris grows to dislike him even more, saying that he can't heal emotional wounds, nor does he hold any interest in healing a person who isn't determined to stay alive in the first place, as there's no value in that. His stance on Subaru changes after their fight against the Hakugei, when he sees the other's passion and relentlessness, as well as because Crusch tells him that she trusts Subaru, and their operation would've been a failure if not for his strength.

He doesn't like weaklings, either -- though that's mostly due to his own self-consciousness, as he's not very proficient in direct combat. It's Crusch's company and endless training that helps him grow stronger, though he still views weak people as a burden -- still, if they're determined and reliable, he tends to warm up to them either way. Aside from that, he tends to get jealous easily, and can be rather childish, despite his age -- he plays petty pranks on Crusch, as well as anyone whom he spends time with, and though she's pretty forgiving, other people hold him accountable for his actions.

As a healer, he values human lives beyond anything else. He takes his job extremely seriously -- even more so after experiencing loss. Alongside Cresch, back during their childhood, Ferris befriended the prince of Lugnica, Fourier. They'd spend their days in the palace, and their friendship continued till their late teens, with Fourier growing an unrequited crush on Crusch -- and though she didn't return his feelings, she respected him greatly. Ferris loved Fourier, too; he held him in incredibly high regard, so the news of the royal family getting an unknown disease was a shock to both him and Crusch. As it turns out, the disease was caused by the dragon deity of Lugnica, due to the royal family not filling certain requirements of the covenant that bound the dragon to the kingdom -- and since the disease was created by a Godlike being, there wasn't a way for Ferris to heal it.

Instead, he sat by Fourier's bed daily; kept him company until he passed away, which shook both Ferris and Crusch to their core. Determined, angry and bitter at the unfairness of the deity, Crusch decided to participate in the royal election -- and since the insignia confirmed that she is qualified to be a dragon priestess, they were accepted in. Her aim, unlike the other participants, is simple: cut the dragon deity off Lugnica, and become an independent kingdom. Ferris supports this belief firmly -- just like her, he's full of anger towards the dragon, and would rather live independently than in fear of the deity taking his loved ones away from him again. That, and he makes sure to hone his skills as a healer every day; become strong enough to fight whatever curse the dragon -- or anyone else -- might conjure.

Despite his mischievous, trickstery nature, he seems to be on good terms with pretty much everyone -- including the entirety of Lugnica's royal guard, as well as William van Astrea, the husband of the previous sword sage and another member of Crusch guard. The only person he seems to harbor negative feelings for is, for a period of time, Subaru -- then the royal guard captain, only because he refuses to cater to him and call him Ferris instead of Felix during official ceremonies. Being a respected member of the royal knights, as well as a treasured healer, he'd gained fame in Lugnica -- a lot of people know him, and he revels in the attention. And though offering his services as a healer to the public certainly does distract him a little, it's a good training -- his goal, despite everything, is rather clear, though. Make sure Crusch becomes the next ruler, and cut the dragon deity off of Lugnica for good, to ensure people's safe and prosperous futures.

ABILITIES:

A very skilled user of water magic (said to be the best on the entire continent), he received the title of 'Blue' as the youngest in history. Water mana represents life and healing magic; as expected, Ferris is an incredible healer, capable of diagnosing and healing any illness, disease and wound, as long as the user isn't dead, which he confirms himself. He's also capable of doing more 'spiritual' healing -- repairing the mana gates, through which people channel their magic, is an example of that. And while he's capable of interfering with people's magic and mana, he can't heal emotional trauma; though emotionless people are generally easier to heal, as there's less turmoil inside of them.

The actual water manipulation isn't something he usually does, but it's possible -- though he rarely ever focuses on the more offensive capabilities of his magic, so nothing on a larger scale.

Instead, he can make people whose mana he'd interfered with (which can be done through physical contact, usually during healing) more susceptible to what he says, as well as control them like puppets by directing his mana to mix with their own. On a more extreme side of that, he can also interfere with their circulatory system, destroy their organs, or make them go completely out of control.

And finally, he can revive himself to perfect condition after death, with the use of life magic; though currently it's unknown whether it's an one-time thing or if it can be done multiple times. (I'm completely fine with nerfing or removing this ability, though, if the mods decide it's too OP!)

INVENTORY:

      ★ healer outfit.
      ★ royal knight outfit.
★ a small dagger with the symbol of the royal guards carved into it.

MEMORY ALTERATION: He'll believe he's been sent on an investigative mission from Crusch, due to opening the gate 'on the other side of the rainbow' after defeating the archbishop of sloth. The gate, in Lugnica, is believed to be able to transport people to other worlds.
